Reading this exhaustive history of Dell's humor comics by Mike Barrier. It's loaded with loads of minutia about how this highly successful line of comics came to be. I'm finding background on guys like Jim Davis that I NEVER thought I'd ever learn. And reading about how a lot of these guys taught themselves how to turn successful animated franchises into now-classic comic books is eye-opening. So much of what is in a comic book creator's DNA was initially figured out by these guys.
