Fred Fredricks' layouts for SGT STRIKE

Tom Lyle and I created the short-lived series STRIKE! published by Eclipse Comics back in the 80s. Each issue had a faux Golden Age reprint from the entirely made-up back history of Happy Comics. The first Sgt. Strike back-up was to be drawn by Fred Fredricks, legendary Mandrake the Magician artist and writer. But Fred had deadline conflicts and had to bow out. But here are the first four pages he laid out before bowing out. I was disappointed but Fred and I had some very fine phone conversations in the process.
